Houston Restaurant Weeks has started! HRW is an annual dining event that takes place in Houston to benefit the local Houston Food Bank. Restaurants create specialized three to four course menus for a flat fee from which a part is donated to the Houston Food Bank. Also, restaurants offer menus for brunch, lunch, dinner, or a combination of the three. Therefore, this is a great way to satisfy your food cravings while also donating to a great cause. This year, the event runs from August 1st to September 1st, and I will be highlighting a restaurant at least weekly for you all to check out!
This week, I went to Songkran Thai Kitchen, a fairly new restaurant that had its grand opening this past May. Located in Uptown Park in the Galleria area of Houston, the restaurant has dishes with authentic Thai flavors and a modern touch. Songkran has a $35 three-course menu for Houston Restaurant Weeks with $5 being donated to the Houston Food Bank. All of the dishes were great, and I would definitely eat there again to try out the regular menu.
