This restaurant is AWESOME. No need to read further, seriously, just go when you get the next chance if you are a Korean food fan.
Recently having its "soft" opening last weekend and its "Grand Opening" this weekend, I wanted to check out the new location and see how it would stack up against other ones that had a similar "tapas" style menu. I am a huge fan of these restaurants since you can try so many dishes during your meal, and I have to say Dosi Restaurant & Soju Bar definitely lived up to my expectations.
One of the cool features of this restaurant is that it has a large selection of Korean soju, something I meant to try while in Koreatown in NYC, but regretfully didn't. Right when you walk into the restaurant, the left wall is a huge display of the liquor infused with different fruit flavors, which shows how serious the restaurant is about their soju. In addition, Dosi serves blended soju, where the fruit is blended in to make a smoothie-like drink. Talking with the waiter, the infused soju is more for taking shots while the blended soju is something to drink throughout your meal. I chose to get the Blended Lychee Soju, coming in a chilled 700 mL container that is plenty for a dinner for two.
Then came the food, and it did not disappoint. We ordered the Wagyu Beef Jerky and Kale Tapioca Chips as starters and the Lamb Collar and Fried Chicken as the main dishes. All the dishes were perfect portion sizes and we were full by the end of dinner (with some leftovers). The highlight of the four dishes was the Lamb Collar: it had great taste and the rice dumplings were awesome! Also, if you've ever had the fried chicken at "Turntable Mad for Chicken" in New York City, the one at this restaurant is a very close match.
So if the pictures haven't sold you yet to try out Dosi, take my word on it and experience it yourself. I feel this restaurant will be big within the next few months.
