After trying its newer sister restaurant Lillo & Ella and having a good experience there, I knew that I had to try Roost before the end of the summer. Then, after Roost shouted out my blog's review on Facebook and put my website out there for all to see (thanks again!), it sort of became a moral obligation to try the place out, not that I wouldn't have anyways.
And of course, the restaurant did not disappoint. Open Monday through Saturday for dinner, Roost is a cozy little restaurant in Montrose with a friendly staff and casual, "local" vibe. The restaurant has a menu that changes every few weeks, letting its guests try new flavors and visually-appealing dishes each time they come back. But, there are two favorites that stay on the menu year round that I tried: the Famous Fried Cauliflower, hands down my favorite dish, and the Coffee n' Donut Holes for dessert. I also ordered the Yellow Corn Cakes and Braised Lamb Shank to round out my dinner with a couple of friends.
Check out their happy hour daily from 4:00-6:30pm and enjoy their wide selection of beer and wine. Roost is a great place to catch up and dine with friends over drinks and delicious food.
